Galatians 1:10 – Are We Men Pleasers?

Are we Here to Please Men or God? Galatians 1:10 is adamantly clear that if we seek to please men we are no longer the servants of Christ.

To serve anyone but Christ above all as a Christian is to be wicked and disobedient to the heavenly calling that God has placed on our lives. Certainly we serve others because it stems from our serving Christ, but he must always have the pre-eminence above all those we serve. We have jobs, and so we are servants to the person who hires us, we have ministries and so we are servants to those who the Lord sends us to, but the one service that is vital to the success of all others is our service to Jesus himself. Without this aspect of being a servant we are only fooling ourselves.

He alone is worthy of the best we can give because he came and humbled himself as a servant to achieve the will of God in delivering men from ignorance to truth and from wickedness to eternal life. He suffered and died as nobody before him did and nobody after him could. WE OWE HIM OUR ALLEGIANCE AND THE BEST OF ALL THAT WE ARE AND EVER WILL BE! Let’s not settle for a lesser cause when the greatest cause to ever exist is before us, and in serving him we will do the most good that can ever be done for anyone in this life or the life to come. – C R Lord, Author

God’s Perfection

WHAT IS YOUR CONCEPTION OF PERFECTION? DO YOU HAVE ONE? For an imperfect being to perfectly understand a perfect being is an utter impossibility! We stretch our limited imaginations to the breaking point and yet never understand this quality of completeness and independence! Perfection is unalterable because it is already all that it can be or ever will be.

If God were able to change he would either be lesser than he is now or greater than he is now. To be lesser would be to be imperfect, and to be greater would make him imperfect as well because if he could change once in any way, he could change at any other time to a greater or lesser being. It is because God is unchangeable that we can trust him to be everything he says he is at all times. Mankind will always be vacillating; trusting to his emotions and unstable as water. God alone can be implicitly trusted to never fail us!

God is perfect in every way. When he loves his love is the most complete love that can possibly be, and when he is angry or filled with wrath his anger and wrath are the most complete that can be. His knowledge is perfect, his mercy is perfect, his power is perfect, his understanding of all things is perfect, his compassion is perfect, his judgments are perfect, and so there is nothing about him in any aspect of his being, character or attributes that is not as complete as it will ever be at any time. This is something that offends rebellious men who love to believe better of themselves than they ought to, and who hate God because they want to attain to his stability and power and never can! In their blindness they reject absolute truth and run to and fro in the earth and die without hope, hardened in their hearts and despised by those they misled during their lifetime.

Consider that God cannot sin. If he were able to sin one time he would no longer be perfect and he would no longer be God. James 1:13 – “God cannot be tempted with evil.” For God to be perfect he has to be free from the curse of temptation, and because he cannot sin, temptation has no place in him. He is the only flawless one in the universe, and those who have placed their trust and hope in him are blessed beyond their wildest imaginations!

What a blessing this is to those who trust him and desire to serve him and bring glory and honor to him! How is it not possible to believe in this great God who is the most consistent being to ever exist in the realms of time and eternity? Consider that when he loves you his love is never one degree colder or one degree hotter than it ever has been, is right this moment or ever will be. Is there anyone we know who is more worthy of our trust? This is the most delightful thing about God! It puts its seal on all the other attributes! This attribute enhances, fortifies, amplifies and should vastly increase our appreciation of all his other attributes! HE IS MORE THAN WORTHY OF ALL THE PRAISE WE CAN GIVE HIM!

Psalms 18:3 – “I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved from mine enemies.” Isaiah 40:22 – “It is he who sits upon the circle of the earth and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers.” ALL HIS WAYS ARE PERFECT!

Genuine Christianity

It is blatantly obvious that Christianity in this current generation clearly presents another gospel or an aberrant, or should I say abhorrent gospel. The weakness among Christians in the body of Christ is clear evidence that the message of the gospel has been watered down or changed so that the power to bring about strong conviction of sin and a need for repentance is gone from the minds of most church goers.

We have created a gospel that makes salvation easy as falling off a log. God’s love is over-emphasized, and God’s wrath is completely ignored by most who preach and teach in the churches of America and in many places around the world.

It is far past time that Christians repent of this perverted presentation of the gospel and begin to seek God to repair the breach between weak ineffective preaching and the preaching that brings genuine coversion to men and teaches them to remain committed to the cause of the Christ who gave his all for them!

I believe before this can be accomplished we must return to the concepts that cause us to see God as he really is rather than as we would like him to be. Preaching and teaching must come that returns us to the once lofty concepts that past generations have held of God such as his Perfection, Holiness, Power and Majesty. We must begin to speak of God’s wrath and judgment as realities that all must face who reject salvation through Christ!

Without this the church will continue to sink to new lows and preaching will continue to be more of a laughing stock than a means of reaching the lost for Christ. It will lead to false salvation promises that leave men believing themselves to be safe in the arms of Jesus but not challenging them to commitment, purity and holiness before God. Christians need to learn to pray and also to be silent in God’s presence so that he might speak to them. We are in the instant generation and we treat God much like a fast food restaurant where we drop our order expecting instant answers instead of learning to wait and to hear what he would say to us.

If we refuse to turn back to what is truth and continue believing this fable that is currently being passed off as a saving gospel message then we will be facing God one day for our disobedience and our indifference and despicable insensitivity to him, his son and all those he has sent us to reach with the one true gospel. We must repent now! The World is waiting!
